Stop creating the story of a power grab out of nothing. This is not the plot to your dream screenplay. The board consists mostly of people who have spent their entire lives being successful in the PRIVATE sector. Now suddenly they are on a power run to apply their moral code on the population?

Maybe they have power because the voters agree with them on a personal and professional level. This is a small town after all, people actually get out and meet each other!

Ms. Mayor will go down in history as the worst thing that has happened to Branson.

Mayor will go down rightfully as a lady who heard the need for change at city hall and delivered it.
Good for her and her board of aldermen.
Is she perfect? No!
But she inherited a mess from the previous board and administrator.
Thanks mayor for correcting many of the past boards boondoggles.

Maybe "overcorrected" is a better term. Her values are not everyone's values.
