Branson Area Homeless - 130 Found
Most people try to avoid them, but seeking out the poor was the goal as the Point in Time event identified 130 of the areas homeless during a vigorous search which included weekly hotels and temporary camps in wooded areas scattered throughout Branson and Hollister.
Multiple groups participated in the evet including Christian Action Ministries (CAM) and Church Army. Active members of Church Army, a local charity primarily focused on rehabilitation from drug and alcohol abuse, reported they found 130 homeless people who were subsequently given care packages.

I don't think I've ever seen a homeless person in Branson! They must have worked hard
I have, they have lived under the Roark Bridge just west of the Hospital. They have also lived under the Roark bridge just South of the Hospital. I brought this to the attention of a "person" at the Hospital that a man and lady were living under the bridge. She said they should just go to Springfield to get some help. Nothing to it, just go to Springfield. Here they are living under a bridge, no food, no transportation, but just go to Springfield, they'll help you.
I think it shows a great deal about both CAM and Church Army as organizations. Just meeting two days a week for church service and giving money is what most people see church organizations as these days. It shows where the heart of these two ministries is really at, and how they are trying to make a positive impact in the community! Hopefully other church organizations will follow this great example.
